From autumn 2026, more people than before will be eligible for a free flu jab. Based on a proposal from the Expert Committee on Immunoprophylaxis, the list of flu risk groups is being extended to include adults who, due to their health condition, are at greater risk of severe flu and complications.
Previously, the flu risk group included children aged between 6 months and 7 years, minors at higher risk of severe flu, pregnant women, people over 60, and those in care. This year, the risk group has also been expanded to include adults with underlying medical conditions or health issues that increase the risk of severe illness.
