Estonian Health Insurance Fund and ERGO Insurance invite kindergarten groups of all ages and pupils in grades 1–4 to participate in the drawing contest "How do diseases live around us?". Estonian Health Insurance Fund is accepting entries from kindergarten groups and primary school classes until October 31. Prizes are provided by ERGO Insurance.
"Over 300 kindergarten groups from across Estonia participated in the drawing contest when it was held for the first time last year. We saw that creative activities are a great way to discuss health, infectious diseases, and their prevention with children. That is why we are organizing the creative contest again this year," said Evelin Kruusalu, Health Promotion Coordinator at Estonian Health Insurance Fund (EHIF).
"Through this drawing contest, we aim to reinforce simple yet important healthy habits—such as handwashing, proper coughing and sneezing etiquette, and being active outdoors—in collaboration with kindergartens, schools, and families. These small, everyday actions help keep illnesses at bay and support both children's well-being and community health," added Kruusalu.
Kindergarten groups of all ages are welcome to participate in the drawing contest. Each group participates as a team and submits a joint entry. The deadline for submitting entries is October 31, 2026. The winning kindergarten will receive a visit from the beloved duo Piip and Tuut.
Grades 1–4 are invited to participate in the comic drawing contest; just like the kindergartens, each class participates as a team and submits a joint comic. The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2026. The winning school will be visited by the Ahhaa Science Theatre.
Entries will be judged by a panel, and prizes are provided by ERGO Insurance.
"The role of insurance is to offer people a sense of security, but the best form of insurance is always prevention. Preventing illness starts with small steps we can take every day—whether it’s washing hands, getting vaccinated, or staying home when sick," said Rain Taimre, Marketing Manager at ERGO Insurance. "Last year, we saw the great joy and creativity with which children and teachers approached this topic. We are delighted to support this initiative again so that children have fewer sick days and more time for learning, playing, and being together," Taimre added.
Further information and instructions for participating in the drawing contest can be found on the Estonian Health Insurance Fund’s website: www.tervisekassa.ee/joonistame.
