Compensation for vaccine damage
In the event of serious damage to health following vaccination in Estonia, a one-time compensation for vaccine damage can be requested from the Health Insurance Fund.

Compensation for vaccine damage can be claimed if:
- serious health damage lasting at least 4 months occurred after vaccination or the person died;
- vaccination took place in Estonia;
- the doctor has documented the health damage;
- the State Agency of Medicines has confirmed that there is a probable causal link between the vaccination and the health damage.

When is compensation not paid?
The Health Insurance Fund may refuse to pay compensation for vaccine damage if:
- it is not an insured event;
- the patient has caused the insured event intentionally;
- the patient does not appear for a doctor's appointment at the appointed time after the insured event without a valid reason;
