Increased need for dental care
Increased dental care needs may result from certain illnesses or their treatment. In such cases, dental care benefits are higher.
Your treating physician will determine whether you have increased dental care needs. They will enter the correct code on your treatment invoice, and the necessary information will be forwarded to a dentist who is a partner of the Health Insurance Fund. You do not need to submit any separate documents or applications to the Health Insurance Fund.
People with increased dental care needs are entitled to a higher dental care benefit of €105 per calendar year (co-payment 12.5%). The benefit is non-monetary and is deducted from the dental care bill upon payment.
The increased dental care benefit can only be used at dental care institutions that have a contract with the Health Insurance Fund(Opens in new tab).
