Having a baby
In order to ensure that the birth of a child goes as smoothly as possible, a woman is offered a number of health services during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period.
If you suspect that you are pregnant, book an appointment with a midwife. If you are indeed pregnant, the midwife will confirm the pregnancy, register you as pregnant and inform you about the further monitoring of the pregnancy.
After being registered as pregnant, you will be entitled to health services and benefits during pregnancy.
Services include monitoring during pregnancy, obstetric care and postpartum counseling. If family planning does not go as expected, the midwife will offer sexual and family planning counseling and, if necessary, refer you to artificial insemination (IVF) treatment.
